Better Together x Terrace Press
"We loved working with Lee from You Give Me Grace to style and photograph our recent collaboration with Terrace Press. We had created a set of Letterpress printed greeting cards, which we needed photographed to take advantage of the beautiful colour palette and deep impression of the printing, and we LOVE what we got! The styling perfectly compliments our designs and we had a great time working together with Lee and her photographer, Jo. Such a relaxed and creative environment to throw around ideas and get the perfect shot. We are looking forward to working together in the very near future!"

How to Make Marbled Easter Eggs
Try these step-by-step directions for making colourful marbled Easter eggs.
Thanks to You Give Me Grace for sharing her Easter DIY with us and Jo Kim Photography for imagery.
Things you will need:
- Newspaper (cover your table)
- Hard boiled egg
- Disposable plastic cup
- Water – enough to fill the cup almost to the top
- Nail polish
- Skewer or tooth pick
- Paper towel
Steps:
- Fill cup up with water – leaving 1cm free from the top
- Open nail polish and gently drop beads of nail polish on the surface of the water. I only used one colour but you can certainly use more.
- Grab skewer and softly swirl the surface of the water so the nail polish makes a patterns.
- Grab your hard boiled egg and gently submerse it half way into the water and then pull it straight out.
- Place the egg on top of the paper towel for 5 mins to dry then repeat step 4 to cover the remaining half of the egg.

Queens of Colour
How did ‘You Give Me Grace’ begin?
You Give Me Grace came to life shortly after my daughter was born. I needed a way to stay creative while being a stay at home mum. I would describe myself before as an Art Director, turned mum, turned sweat pants stylist.
I team up with Jo Kim Photography for all my styled shoots, as she brings a skill behind the camera that is well beyond mine.
Tell us a little about your background. Have you always been a product stylist?
No, I was a graphic designer for 5 years and then an Art Director for 4 when I fell pregnant with Grace. After becoming a mum I knew I was ready for a new challenge and started styling focusing on children’s products.
How would you describe your aesthetic in your own home?
How does this compare with the aesthetic you bring to your commercial styling work?
Before Grace I would have said my style at home was minimalistic black and white. How quickly that changed once Grace came along. Now our home has had a massive injection of colour, starting in her room and making its way down the hallway. Even our bedroom has a neon pink light and love heart vase hanging above our bed. (sorry hubby) My work style is would be described as colourful, quirky and fun and certainly emulates my home now.
Which designers, artists or creative people are you inspired by?
Rachel Castle
Florence Broadhurst
Anna Bond
Gemma Obrien
Kip and Co
Meri Meri
Merrilee Liddiard
Roxy Marj
James Jean
Which colour combination is your go to?
Pink, yellow and blue. These colours may vary in shades from season to season but I find they always work well together.
And finally, everyone has a happy colour! What is yours?
Pink - It just makes me smile.

REAL ROOM TOUR: Modern Colour Pop
I love colour – I absolutely love it! So when this bright and modern toddler room came across my desk I was busting to share it! Lee Seaman of You Give Me Grace has created a beautifully colourful room for her daughter Grace. It captures the quirky fun and light of her daughter whilst providing practical play areas to engage a curious toddler. In my eyes a masterpiece I am delighted to share!
Tell us about the owner of this room:
“Grace is a quirky little girl who will be 2 in October. She loves when I read to her, especially when I put on funny little voices. At 18 months, Grace had figured out a way to climb out of her cot (which she hated) so I had to go buy a big girl bed straight away. Maybe that was her plan because she loves her new bed and being able to get up and down when ever she wants. Grace also loves Playdough, painting and drawing. Most of the time drawing is done with two hands. That way you can colour the page twice as quick.”
Tell us a little about your business:
“You Give Me Grace came to life shortly after my daughter was born. I needed a way to stay creative while being a stay at home mum. I would describe myself as an Art Director, turned mum, turned sweat pants stylist.
I team up with Jo Kim Photography for all my styled shoots, as she brings a skill behind the camera that is well beyond mine.
My style would be described as colourful and quirky. I love researching, drawing, making and of course shopping for beautiful products from around the globe and adding my flare to make the photos come to life.”
Tell us why you chose to engage an interior designer:
“It’s hard not to when you are one :-)”
What was the brief for this room?
“I wanted to design a room that would engage a curious toddler enough to play, explore and have fun on their own. That is why there are multiple play areas in her room – drawing station, reading area and a toy box full of goodies to enjoy.”
What was your inspiration:
“With any room design I start with one product I cannot live without. In this case it was a colourful painting from Tracey Mock. It combined all the colours I wanted for her room in so many glorious shades. I then created a mood board to make sure everything would fit together. This is such a great way to plus and minus products without having to purchase them.”
How did you select your colour palette?
“I always stick with the same colour palette, which are pink, yellow and blue. These colours may vary in shades from season to season but I find they always work well together.”
Paint/Wallpaper name & brand:
“Nothing yet, but on my list is the glorious wallpaper designed by Nathalie Lete ‘The Kingdom in the Roses’ and printed by Jimmy Cricket.”
What is your favourite feature in the room and why?
“I would have to say the reading area – It’s 3 simple shelves from Ikea that hold a dozen books that Grace uses every day.”
What was the biggest challenge?
“I would have to say budget. With my line of work I see so many wonderful items I would love to include in her room but unfortunately the wallet wouldn’t stretch that far. Luckily there are always birthdays and Christmas to keep working on her little space.”
What is your overall favourite thing about this space?
“I would have to say the space surrounding her bed. Who doesn’t love super soft linen, an intricate bedhead and dreamy artwork.”

A Splash of Colour
Step into a world of colour with this beautifully styled shoot from You Give Me Grace. With pops of pink, mustard and aqua blue leaping from the page the images look good enough to eat...
Self described as an Art Director, turned mum, turned sweat pants stylist, Lee created You Give Me Grace shortly after her daughter was born... "I needed a way to stay creative while being a stay at home mum. My style would be described as colourful and quirky. I love researching, drawing, making and of course shopping for beautiful products from around the globe and adding my flare to make the photos come to life."
Lee LOVES colour and that is one thing that is very evident in her beautiful images. "My muse for all my shoots is the colour scheme pink, yellow and blue. I just love how these three colours work together and when bright can be playful and exciting, or can have a totally different effect when in pastel form. I start any shoot by choosing that one product I just can't go without (this time it was Bowie) and I just keep adding to that and slowly but surely the shoot evolves."
Teaming up with the amazing Jo Kim Photography behind the lens was a match made in heaven... "She brings a skill behind the camera that is well beyond mine." And with a love of photographing pretty things, delicious food, and humans, especially brand new humans, they found they had a lot in common. Jo lives with her husband and her own two little humans. She loves all things organic and natural, music, the beach, and once accidentally flashed her garbage man.
Well we are head over heels in love. We officially want to climb into every picture and join this picnic of colour! Find all of the product links at the bottom of the post. x
